Brunch Review: Bayside Restaurant

I'm not sure why Jenn and I don't go to Sunday Brunch more. For me it's one of my favorite meals ever. It combines foods from all three meal categories (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) and usually comes with bottomless champagne. Over the memorial day weekend Jenn and I went to the Bayside Restaurant for brunch. Their setup is slightly different then the typical Sunday brunch buffet changing that instead for a set 2-course menu with bottomless champagne.

Chef Joel & Jenn: Sloppy Joe Mac 'n' Cheese

Unfortunately its been another big gap between Chef Joel & Jenn posts. To say we've both been extremely busy with work and life would be an understatement. The last couple of weeks have had both Jenn and I working many nights and weekends not to mention other obligations. It was nice this past weekend to not only do next to nothing but also take out the old cookbook and try yet another new recipe.

Dinner Review: Fig & Olive

At this point Jenn and I have ate at almost every restaurant in Fashion Island. It was our home for so many years that it often made for great date nights. The one remaining restaurant that we hadn't tried was the somewhat newly built/opened Fig & Olive. And like that this date night was set up.

Breakfast Review: Garage Kitchen + Bar

Last year on our two San Diego outings we sampled some of the local fare, mainly breakfast and continued that on our latest trip. After enjoying both Richard Walkers Pancake House and Queenstown Public House we were ready to continue to see what San Diego had in store for us. This time I left Jenn with the task of finding us a place for breakfast and she landed on Garage Kitchen + Bar a short walk from where we were staying.

Dinner Review: The Lion's Share

Last year when we were dealing with all of our house problems we spent a couple of weekends in San Diego at my Grandma's condo. It was a huge blessing, and made for some truly memorable and fun weekend getaways. A year later our lives have completely turned around, we're out of the house, and live in a great apartment that we love. We went back down this past weekend to San Diego to enjoy another go at the great city and enjoy some of its great cuisine.

Dinner Review: North Italia

I'm so happy to be writing another post about Jenn and I trying a new place to eat. We're foodies through and through, and 2016 has been our resurgence into eating at new places. Before we went to go see The Book of Mormon we drove to a brand new restaurant in Irvine called North Italia. And I'm so glad we did.
