Movie Review: In a World
I urge you to try and watch In a World and not try and replicate the amazing voice actors who narrate movie trailers. In a World for those who haven't heard of it is a movie about voice actors and the very exclusive club of them who narrate movie trailers. I don't know about you but I absolutely love movie trailers. When Jenn and I go see a movie at the theaters we give an obligatory thumbs up or down depending on our thoughts on the trailer. So needless to say this movie was right up our alley.
The movie itself unfortunately doesn't live up to the amazing trailer that led both Jenn and I to want to see it. Its equal part comedy, drama, and even a bit of romantic comedy thrown in for good measure. Its sort of a disjointed movie in all honesty. There were moments where you could really root for the main protagonist (Carol) but not even sure she fully grasped what was going on.
To me this movie would have been far better with a lighter tone then it ended up having. The movies best moments were the weird quirks of voice actors sharpening and refining their craft and not the family/marital drama that the movie ends with. In the end In a World is an entertaining movie, but nothing I would ever need to re-watch.
Oh and remember try not to say "In a World" after you watch the trailer.
