Maldives 2021 Day 6 - Two Ducks Please

This may be a record but I got Jenn to play tennis again even though it was far hotter than any of our previous days. It was also the worst either of us has played since we got here and not only because I lost. Even with that, it was still so nice to get up and get some exercise in so we wouldn’t feel lazy when we did next to nothing for the rest of the day.

We made our way to breakfast this morning a little after 9 AM and have gotten into the routine of getting the same table, service members and food items. I am now firmly in the duck confit camp and even convinced Jenn to join me on that journey although she immediately said that she will be going back to the eggs and waffles going forward. The duck was “too heavy” in her estimation, so I had two duck confits today. Instead of champagne I have switched over to the bloody Mary’s and am really enjoying their fresh mango and pineapple juice.

Today’s main activity was to go to the spa. Jenn’s one and only excursion she wanted to do while here at the St. Regis Maldives was to enjoy a spa day. We arrived early to our appointment and relaxed in their relaxation area with tea and water while we waited for our 90-minute couple massages. Right at 1 PM, they came to get us and we were taken to a private villa where we got ready for our massages and enjoyed two of the best massages either of us have ever had. It started with a foot scrub and then their signature massages. By the time they gently let us know the time was over we were both relaxed and feeling like we could go play five sets of tennis, or at least I did.

We relaxed in our villa for the rest of the day alternating between laying out, playing Uno in our room, and finishing the third season of Sex Education. For dinner, we ordered room service again, this time we had Indian food delivered which made it feel like home. All we were missing was a Frasier walk and Last Week Tonight. We enjoyed their butter chicken, rice, and both plain and garlic naan. It was nice to have a meal back in our room which let us take a nice long walk to end the evening something we haven’t done a lot of since arriving in the Maldives which was the perfect way to end the day.
