Movie Review: Rush
I remember last summer seeing the trailers for Rush and knowing that Jenn was never going to the theaters to see this movie. Even if we are both big fans of Ron Howard as a director, there was no chance I could convince her to see a racing movie. So needless to say we waited for it to hit blu-ray and picked it up on Red Box this past weekend.
Movie Review: Her
Very rarely do I go into a movie expecting not to like it and come out of it not only loving it but considering it one of my favorite movies in a long time. Yesterday Jenn and I on a whim went to go see the Oscar nominated movie Her starring Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansen.
Movie Review: Jobs
I'm really shocked I didn't make Jenn go see Jobs in the theaters. But somehow getting out to see Jobs alluded me so I waited for it come out on rental to check it out. Most of you probably already know by this point but I've been a giant Apple fan since the release of the iPod. Since that time I've watched probably every Apple keynote and began to truly admire how Steve Jobs not only presented keynotes but drove innovation at Apple.
Movie Review: American Hustle
After coming away pretty disappointed by The Wolf of Wall Street, Jenn and I went into seeing American Hustle with a little trepidation. Luckily within the first ten minutes our fears were gone and we were in for one great movie.
We Watched a Lot of Movies/TV in 2013
At the beginning of 2013 I began using a service called Trakt which keeps track of all the TV and Movies you watch. Its best as an iOS app and basically after Jenn and I got done watching a movie or TV show I would record it in the Trakt app. It started more as a mere fascination with how much we watched but ended up being something I really enjoyed using. The Trakt app is quite good and there is a little joy that comes from marking yet another episode of the Daily Show off.
Movie Review: The Wolf of Wall Street
The Wolf of Wall Street might be the most over-the-top, gratuitous movie I've ever seen. Going in you know this a movie all about excess, but the lengths in which Martin Scorsese goes to portray it, was to much for me. Its a three hour movie and he takes more times then I can count to show the incredible excess that these crook stockbrokers have.
