An Amazing Celebration of 6 Years Together
I cannot believe that Jenn and I have already been married six years. Not to mention the fact that we've been a couple for nearly a dozen years. To celebrate this momentous occasion I took the opportunity to plan a day. Not necessarily the most original idea since that's exactly what Jenn did for my 29th Birthday but alas I had some making up to do.
The Road Leading Up to Purchasing Our First Home
For the last year or two Jenn has been on a mission. That mission, for us to purchase our first home. After renting for the first 5 years of our marriage she was ready to settle down. Me on the other hand I could have stayed at our current apartment indefinitely. Eventually Jenn got me to come around and we began the journey.
Five Absolutely Amazing Years
I'm the luckiest man in the world. Five years ago today I married my high school sweetheart, my best friend, and the love of my life. On September 19, 2009 Jenn and I walked down the aisle at the stunning St. Regis in Monarch Beach. It was a picture perfect day and was the start of what has been an absolutely incredible five years.
Celebrating Jenn's New Job
A couple of weeks ago I announced that Jenn got a new job (along with a new car) and this evening we went out to celebrate. After a lot of debate we decided to keep things low key and walk from our apartment down to Balboa Island to Amelias Seafood and Italian Restaurant.
Jenn Got a New Job & Car
Jenn never ceases to amaze me. A month ago she looked like she had something on her mind and sure enough that night she told me she had applied to Taco Bell for a management position of their internal communications. I went online right after she told me and knew she had a great chance at the position and sure enough after two rounds of interviews she got the job. It's a big promotion for her and I couldn't be happier for her. She has really loved her job at PIMCO but I think this new position is an even better fit for her. I sit here and can't even begin to describe how proud I am of her. She is fearless, she knows what she wants and never lets anyone stop her. I'm so excited for her to start the new job and knock Taco Bell's burritos off (see what I did there).
The Best Ten Years of My Life
It all began ten years ago today.
On November 3, 2003 a beautiful winter afternoon I finally summoned the courage to ask Jenn out. This wasn't the first time I'd asked her. Two months prior I was turned down, being told that she wasn't ready. My heart was broken but not enough to stop me from trying again. Our friendship grew, I fell even harder for her, and on that day I finally mustered enough courage to ask her again.
