Jenn Got a New Job & Car

Jenn never ceases to amaze me. Around a month ago I remember Jenn coming home and looking like she had something on her mind and sure enough that night she told me she had applied to Taco Bell for a Management position in their Internal Communications group at Taco Bell HQ in Irvine. I went online right after she told me and knew she had a great chance at the position and sure enough after two rounds of interviews she got the job. It's a big promotion for her and I couldn't be happier for her. She has really loved her job at PIMCO but I think this new position is an even better fit for her. I sit here and can't even begin to describe how proud I am of her. She is fearless, she knows what she wants and never lets anyone stop her. I'm so excited for her to start the new job and knock Taco Bell's burritos off (see what I did there).

It was also a year ago that we sold Jenn's BMW and I've got to admit I never thought we'd last this long with only one car, but somehow we did. With Jenn's new job we weren't going to be able to get away with only one car (since she now has a 10 mile commute rather then a 5 minute walk) so over the past few days we were on the hunt for a new car. Originally we were thinking of doing a lease on a luxury car but it just never felt right.

This past Sunday we woke up and start spamming all the Orange County Toyota dealerships for their best quotes and after two hours I got their prices down two thousand from the initial offers and ended up going to Toyota of Irvine to buy a 2014 Toyota RAV4 XLE. After having all of the dealerships fight each other and continually beat each others quotes we nailed down a price at Toyota of Irvine and they had everything ready for us to go when we got to the dealership.

When we got to the dealership our RAV4 was pulled up front and we checked it out before heading into the main lobby area. We took the RAV4 for a test drive and Jenn absolutely loved it. We pulled back up entered the open lobby where we could watch Federer v Djokovic at Indian Wells while filling out paperwork. The whole process took under two hours from the time we got in there to the time we drove off the lot.

It's an extremely exciting time in the Szerlip household and I just can't wait for Jenn to start her new job and start a new adventure. God is good.
