A Little Joy in a Rough Couple of Weeks

I cannot believe I even get to write this post. I didn't think I would ever see the likes of Stephen Colbert (playing Stephen Colbert) or Jon Stewart on the airwaves again. Yes, Stephen Colbert took over for Letterman, but his character formed on The Daily Show and made into its own show on The Colbert Report has been retired since December 2014. That was until last night, when Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart teamed up again on the first night of the Republican National Convention (RNC).

TV Review: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2

Last year when we put our house up for sale the first time I remember spending a couple of weekends binging through the very light-hearted Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I'm not sure if it was the time in which we watched it or if the show was as funny as we remember it, but we loved the first season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Now a year later and in a much better spot then we were a year ago, we were ready for the second season of the Netflix comedy darling, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Movie Review: Where to Invade Next

Jenn and I are trying to become more informed both in politics and the world around us. We have a desire to watch more documentaries. After hearing amazing things about Where to Invade Next we decided to give it a go. I want to clear the elephant in the room, yes, Where to Invade Next is a Michael Moore film. Don't stop reading though. This is not as much a pushing of a liberal agenda, but instead an eye opening look into places outside of America. The premise is simple. What can we steal from other countries around the world to make America better then it already is. Seems like a great idea to me. If you find this idea, to learn from other countries to be "liberal" then I don't know what to tell you.

TV Review: Red Oaks

I'm falling way behind on my blog posts in the last month or so. Between work and Jenn and I having pretty full weekends I just haven't had the time or made the time to keep up with the blog. That doesn't mean however that Jenn and I have slowed down on our TV watching, quite the contrary. One of the shows we recently ran through was an Amazon Original, called Red Oaks.

Recapping Four Plays at South Coast Repertory

Over the Thanksgiving break Jenn and I went a little crazy and bought season passes to both Segerstrom and South Coast Repertory. The two are very different theater experiences. Segerstrom is much more of your mainstream theater with Broadway style performances. Whereas South Coast Repertory (SCR) is much more your indie small scale performances. Our season pass at SCR entitled us to four plays of our choice. That was the hardest part as all of them sounded compelling. However we made our choices and just wrapped up our first full season at SCR and loved every second of it.
