Jenn's Big 30 in Peru Day 1: High on Life
There have been many times during Jenn and I's travel that it's felt surreal to sit down and write about where we are. I'll never forget sitting at our desk at the JW Marriott in Bejing starring out at a huge thunder and lightning storm, or writing from Switzerland after two days of flight insanity. Today I'm writing from Cusco, Peru a place that quite honestly I was never sure Jenn and I would ever visit.
Joel & Jenn's Travel Continues - Part 1
I've really struggled with how to write these posts. I usually only have one post a year that talks about the big adventure Jenn and I are going to go on for the year. This year we've already gone to Chicago and the Grand Canyon and are only a couple of days from boarding a plane to Peru. We also have a 3+ week trip to Asia coming in November. And yet that's not where our travels end. Over the last couple of weeks, we booked two trips to continue our insane travel itinerary. The first is a trip over Labor Day weekend to New York City to cross off a bucket list item for me, the US Open.
A Surprise Trip to Machu Picchu for Jenn's 30th Birthday
A week or so before my 30th birthday Jenn brought me a cup of coffee in a Starbucks mug we bought in Paris in 2014. She then proceeded to tell me as I spilled coffee on my lap that in only a couple of days we'd be taking a flight to Paris to celebrate my birthday. It's a moment in my life that I'll never forget. If anyone was ever to make a highlight video of my life, my 30th birthday trip would be in it.
Mini Family Vacation - Grand Canyon 2017
Last year most of my siblings (outside of Ally) took a weekend trip to Catalina. It was such a hit that we decided to up the ante and go on a road trip over Memorial Day weekend. The genesis actually began as a gift for Jake (my younger brother) for his 26th birthday. One by one we all decided to tag along before there were six of us piled into a mini-van bright and early on Friday, May 26th.
Mini Vacation - Chicago 2017
Jenn doesn't travel often for work, but when she does I try to tag along. We've been fortunate enough to go to some pretty incredible places like Seattle and Washington DC with these work trips. This year Jenn started a new job and sure enough a couple of months in and she was asked to go to a conference in Chicago a city we've never been to. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity and fly out a few days early and see what Chicago has to offer.
Joel & Jenn's Grand Adventure 2017 Is Booked
The time has finally come. Jenn and I have decided on our big trip for 2017, and it's quite the adventure. As much as I wanted to make a return to Europe, we decided to continue exploring the world and spread our wings to new and interesting places in the world. So this November we will be departing LAX and going on a nearly month long adventure throughout Asia.
