Jenn and I have been married for a little over eight years and together over fifteen. In all of those years together I'm not sure though we've ever had a year quite as great as 2017. From start to finish it was one of those years that I know when we're old and gray we will be talking about our amazing adventures, Jenn's big career move and being back in Newport Beach. 

We're nearing the end of another year and that means its time for our favorite things post. This is now our seventh year in a row doing this post and I absolutely adore going back and reading old posts. 2017 has been an absolutely crazy/enjoyable/memorable year and putting together this post just reiterates to me how fortunate we both are. We've been blessed with so much and I hope to never lose sight of that. Alright let's do it, let's go through Jenn and my favorite things from 2017. 

I've got a string of year-end articles that I like to write up. This one began with my first Apple Watch in 2015. For the past couple of years, I've become somewhat addicted to tracking my daily performance in a slew of different categories. I just find it to be a fun, easy thing to do, to try to be my best self. Whether it's getting enough sleep, taking more than 10,000 steps a day, or reading as much as I can, it's all fun ways to track my day to day. 

Last month was a slightly odd month in that I didn't do this formal recap. Instead, we had almost daily posts about our Grand Adventure and an amazing visual recap of the trip through six slideshows that Jenn expertly put together. This month we were back home (sort of) and we've got a full month of festivities to look back on.

Each of the past couple of years I've written down on my blog what my own personal goals are. This is a way to keep myself accountable for what I want to accomplish in a year and a way to measure how well I'm meeting those goals. Just as important as setting out goals is, so to is seeing how well you did. Today I'm here to look back at what my goals were at the start of the year and how well I did at achieving those goals. 

What an absolute treasure of a year for television. I struggled so badly to put this list together. And after talking with Jenn about her list we both really struggled with the top ten area of the list. What I found so interesting about this year's list is how many of our favorites dropped to the bottom of our list. I'm looking at you Veep, Silicon Valley, Orange is the New Black and Red Oaks. Luckily there were so many amazing new shows this year like The Handmaid's Tale, Big Little Lies, and Sneaky Pete.
