Ranking The TV We Watched in 2015
Growing up I was always a movie guy. I spent much of my summers at the movies seeing as many films as I possibly could. As I've gotten older I've migrated more to television. As you hear a lot now this is the golden era of television and judging by the list of shows we watched this year that's absolutely the case. There wasn't one bad show we watched this year (well maybe UnREAL) because if there was there were ten other shows we could watch. So without further ado here is my personal rank of the 17 full seasons of television we watched.
Movie Review: Ex-Machina
A couple of weeks back I came down with a cold and had a day at home during the week where all I did was watch episodes of Jessica Jones and watched a movie I've been dying to see, Ex-Machina. It's a movie I wanted to see in theaters and like a ton of movies this year never got around to doing it. Luckily it just recently came out on Amazon Prime so while I was hopped up on Dayquil I sat down and watched it.
TV Review: Master of None
Netflix is on a roll. On a recent episode of the DarkCast we discussed how much of our TV consumption has come from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. When I think about how Jenn and I went from DVR'ing everything to watching it all online in the last couple of years its kind of hard to fathom how quickly the change has happened. In the last month Netflix released two huge shows Jessica Jones (which I'm in the middle of) and Master of None which we finished in three days.
12 Days of Christmas Movies - 2015 Edition
We've had the idea for 12 Days of Christmas Movies for a couple of years. But things have always gotten in the way of us actually following through on it. But this year we aren't buying a house or doing anything crazy so we are fully committed to doing 12 Days of Christmas Movies. We were so committed that we purchased blurays for all the movies we didn't own or weren't on a streaming service. We are absolutely ready for Christmas this year! So without further ado here's our plan for 12 Days of Christmas Movies in 2015.
TV Review: Parenthood (All Seasons)
I'm really ashamed that this is going to be the first time (and potentially last time) I write about the television show, Parenthood. It's a show that Jenn and I have followed since the beginning and have loved but often forgot about. And according to NBC we aren't alone. The show has never been a ratings juggernaut, but they've let the Braverman family continue telling its story and doing a brilliant job of it.
Movie Review: The Martian
Easily one of my most anticipated movies of the year was The Martian. It's a book I fell in love with in early 2014 and at the end of the year named it my favorite book of the year. It was an incredible tale of a man stranded on Mars who had to use every piece of knowledge and fortitude to survive. It was easily one of the best books I've ever read and a movie adaptation seemed like it had to be the potential to be a true classic.
