Movie Review: The Amazing Spider-Man 2
First and foremost I cannot believe I got Jenn to go see this with me. But somehow the stars aligned just right and we went to go see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this past Friday night (opening night for the movie) and I for one am glad we did. We walked over to Big Newport Cinemas after eating some El Ranchito Takeout. When we got to the theater it was buzzing with people and not one but two guys in Spider-Man costumes taking pictures with kids and getting them pumped for the movie.
Incredible Tribute to One of the Best TV Series of All Time
I try very hard not to just post videos on my blog and call them proper entries. A couple of years ago I tried posting more frequently and one of the ways I did that was posting funny or interesting video. Looking back it felt like a disservice to the World of Joel. However today I came across a video that I feel truly captures the magic of one of my favorite TV shows of all time, Breaking Bad. It's a video that spans the entire series without spoiling too much and captures the rise and fall of Walter White.
Movie Review: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
I consider the first few previews of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty to be some of the best I've seen. The trailers call for you to join them on this epic adventure and as such this movie seemed to be right in my wheelhouse. So after missing it in theaters (not willingly) during the holidays last year, Jenn and I rented it this past weekend on Amazon.
Finished Two Seasons of New Girl
We are officially hooked. Believe me both Jenn and I scoffed at the idea of watching New Girl. We'd seen clips of it. I'd even watched an episode or two on a flight but never thought I'd get this hooked. Around a month ago I caught a cold and was home from work and needing something to watch. I saw New Girl on Netflix and decided I'd give an episode a go. Eight episodes later Jenn got home from work and I re-watched all eight of those episodes with Jenn and the rest is history.
Movie Review: Grudge Match
I'm a giant Rocky fan. I've probably watched the movies a couple hundred times (no exaggeration). A couple of years back I even wrote a post ranking the six different Rocky movies. So when I saw the first trailer for Grudge Match I've got to be honest I was pretty concerned. The concept on its face sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen. Take two iconic actors who's arguably biggest roles in their career were as boxers and face them against each other in a movie not starring those two iconic characters. Doesn't sound great does it?
Movie Review: Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
I remember when I first watched the original Anchorman. I really didn't like it at all. And then a year later I watched it again and could not stop laughing. That's a pretty common trend with Will Ferrell movies. I seem to never like the movie at first but the more I watch them the more I appreciate the comic genius. So its probably no surprise that I really didn't care for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
