Stephen Colbert Taking Over for Letterman
It's sort of a bittersweet day today. On one hand I'm happy to hear that Stephen Colbert got the Late Night job on CBS. On the other hand I'm sad, as The Colbert Report is a staple in the Szerlip household. Each night Jenn and I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. It's a great lineup and one that has been a staple for us for the past couple of years. The combination of political satire and genuinely hilarious interviews has always kept us coming back for more.
Movie Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
With Jenn taking this week off to rest and get ready for the new job, I was able to get some time off as well. We spent a lot of the time just relaxing in our apartment, eating good food, and drinking great wine. We did however make some time to go see the first of my most anticipated movies of summer 2014, Captain America: The Winter Solider.
My Most Anticipated Movies of Summer 2014
Last year I started a new tradition on WorldofJoel, too pick my most anticipated movies of the summer. It seems like each summer I get crazy high expectations for a bunch of movies and then am somehow disappointed that 75% of them don't pan out. It's usually a movie I've never heard of that ends up being my favorite. Alas its now tradition and I am here with my list of summer blockbusters I can't wait to see this summer (and technically spring).
TV Series We'd Like to Try Out - Early 2014 Edition
Jenn and I are almost fully caught up with the TV shows we watch and are ready not only for the shows to premiere in April but also to start diving into some new series as well. So here are a list of seven shows that at some point in 2014 we would like to dive into.
Movie Review: Ender's Game
Ender's Game the novel by Orson Scott Card was released back in 1985. Since then the love and adoration for the novel has only increased. Since the movie was announced a lot of people including myself who weren't even born when the novel was released went back and re-read it in anticipation for the movie release.
Movie Review: The Family
I remember when I saw the previews for The Family last year and thinking this would make for a great rental. This past Sunday we got a buy one get one free at Redbox and jumped on it. Two movies for under two bucks is a pretty great deal. Our first pick was The Family starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer who play the parents of a mob family who snitched on the rest of the family and are now on the run.
