Recap of My Goals for 2019 - How Did I Do?

I’ve found that the older I get the more I want to focus in on what I want from life. When I look back at the goals I set out for 2019 I am proud to say that it is directionally things that are important for me. Reading, reflecting, and taking care of myself.

GOAL #1: READ 33 BOOKS - ACHIEVED

I’m proud to say I surpassed my goal of 33 books this year and read 35. I got into a groove throughout the year, found books that I really wanted to read, and enjoyed my year of reading quite a bit.

GOAL #2: RUN 300 TIMES IN 2019 - FAILED

I ran 269 times in 2019. 11 fewer than in 2018. 269 is not a number to sneeze at. I am very proud of my diligence, my push to stay healthy, and to get myself to the gym nearly 75% of the year. But I should have hit 300 and hope to do better than 2018 & 2019 in 2020.

GOAL #3: KEEP WEIGHT UNDER 140LBS - ACHIEVED

I have met this goal for a number of years now. I keep it as a goal each year because it’s incredibly important to me. I let myself get out of shape, into an unhealthy weight and I don’t want to ever do that again. I had times in 2019 where I flirted with weights closer to 140 but every time I pushed myself to eat less and run more. And for that, I am so proud of achieving this goal yet again.

GOAL #4: EAT AT A TOTAL OF 12 MICHELIN STAR RESTAURANTS - ACHIEVED

It’s funny that I put this goal after the previous goal of keeping my weight under 140lbs. But alas I was able to achieve both of these goals without canceling each other out. We ate at some spectacular restaurants this year (a separate post ranking them) and it is one of the most fun goals I’ve ever completed. Here’s the list of the places we ate at this year:

DateRestaurant# of Stars
March 9Cote*
March 23Claro*
April 13Tuome*
May 24Le Coucou*

*Odette was a 2-Michelin star when we visited but as of this writing it earned a third star.

GOAL #5: WRITE UP 12 MONTHLY POSTS IN 2019 - ACHIEVED

I started writing monthly posts in 2017 and it’s one of the greatest joys of each month. I love to look back on these posts and remember the smaller moments that happen each month. I always remember going to the Pyramids or joining Jenn for a work event in Amsterdam, but remember the Sunday we watched three movies is just as amazing.
