TV Review: Orange is the New Black Season 2

Orange is the New Black is one of those shows in concept I love. But in reality its a show that hits some big highs and some serious lows. Season 2 of Orange is the New Black was released on Netflix earlier in 2014 and spurred Jenn and I to start the series. I recapped Season 1 a month ago and Jenn and I just got done flying through Season 2.

For me (and I think Jenn would agree) Season 2 of Orange is the New Black had some of my favorite episodes and some of my least. The focus after the first few episodes went away from Piper (the main character) and went back to rest of the supporting cast. In a lot of ways Piper isn't the most sympathetic or likable character so to have some breaks from her and to get some of the heartfelt stories of the other women in the prison was nice.

Neither Jenn or I were all that red hot on the last few episodes either. It ended with a bang but nothing that is making me super excited for Season 3. In a lot of ways its a show we both enjoy but it doesn't live up the caliber of some of the other incredible television on right now.

Oh and before I forget this Frozen is the New Black video is fantastic! It won't make sense unless you have a good history of Disney and enjoy Orange is the New Black.
