Movie Review: X-Men: Days of Future Past

After the dud that was Godzilla, I was ready to see a good movie. After the incredible reviews for X-Men: Days of Future Past I pushed even harder for Jenn and I to go see the movie, even if Jenn has never seen an X-Men movie before. I've been a huge fan of the franchise (especially X-Men and X-2) and was really looking forward to the cross-over between the old X-Men cast and that of the X-Men First Class. Luckily the movie did not disappoint.

Jenn and I walked over to Big Newport 6 theaters on a gloomy Sunday for Memorial Day weekend and went to an almost empty theater. Surprising since the movie nearly made $100 million this weekend. We got some popcorn and strapped in for the incredible two hour action movie. I will say the first twenty of thirty minutes of X-Men: Days of Future Past were a bit dull, but once they go back to the 1970's things became far more interesting.

Even Jenn who had never seen an X-Men movie not only followed the movie (to my surprise) but also really enjoyed it. Days of Future Past has a stellar cast and a really good combination of action and quick whit that has made the franchise popular to begin with. The only negative I had was the ending which (spoiler) literally resets everything that has happened before this movie and makes all previous movies null and void. Oh well I'm totally ready for some more X-Men movies!
