Movie Review: Where to Invade Next

Jenn and I are trying to become more informed both in politics and the world around us. We have a desire to watch more documentaries. After hearing amazing things about Where to Invade Next we decided to give it a go. I want to clear the elephant in the room, yes, Where to Invade Next is a Michael Moore film. Don't stop reading though. This is not as much a pushing of a liberal agenda, but instead an eye opening look into places outside of America. The premise is simple. What can we steal from other countries around the world to make America better then it already is. Seems like a great idea to me. If you find this idea, to learn from other countries to be "liberal" then I don't know what to tell you.

Movie Review: Captain America: Civil War

Let me just start by saying I'm 100% #TeamCap. If you don't know what the means you probably aren't going to be all that interested in this review. For me though Captain America has been the pinnacle of the Marvel cinematic universe (MCU). His movies (especially Captain America: Winter Soldier) are my favorite of the series, and I usually am rooting for him in The Avengers movies.

Movie Review: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I usually try to write reviews for movies/TV shows pretty quickly after consuming them. I'd rather write down my initial thoughts and not let them be swayed one way or another. However, I didn't do that with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It's been over two weeks since Jenn and I went to Big Newport Cinema in Newport Beach and sat in their giant new recliners in their RPX theater to take in this latest superhero movie.

Movie Review: Deadpool

In general it's very rare that I see a movie in theaters anymore. Jenn and I spend so much more time watching Netflix/Amazon/Hulu or going to live performances that it leaves little to no time to go see movies in theaters. It's even more rare that I go see a movie in theaters that I wasn't looking forward to for a long time. But worlds collided and while Jenn and Amy went to get a massage, Jake and I went to go see Deadpool.

Movie Review: Steve Jobs

When Jenn and I were on the Royal Voyage 2015 the movie Steve Jobs was released. Although critically it was somewhat well received, audiences didn't show up for it. By the time we had gotten back from the trip and recovered the movie was hard to find and we weren't able to see it in theaters. Over the last couple of months I've been eagerly anticipating watching it. So much so that I ended up just buying it on iTunes so I didn't have to wait for the rental.

Movie Review: The Intern

Jenn and I just don’t watch movies as much as we used to when we first started dating. Our preference has changed from movies to television and that’s evident if you keep an eye on my blog. However, every now and again a movie will come along that peaks both of our interest and we either go out and see it or keep it on our radar for when it comes out to rent. The Intern is exactly that. It’s a movie that we both wanted to see but didn’t want to fork out $30 to go see. But on our mini-vacation to Seattle we found it to be a perfect time to fork out a couple bucks to rent it.
