Chef Joel & Jenn: Pork Chops with Mushroom, Onion and Rosemary Cream Sauce

I'm not sure what I did but I somehow have convinced Jenn doing a new recipe every week is a great idea and she is now fully on-board. In fact she seems to be even more excited about the new recipes then I am and wants to invest in more cook books. For Christmas she even bought me a new cookbook called Dinner for Two written by a blogger who's website I frequent quite a bit, TableforTwo. There are a ton of recipes in the book but the first one we stumbled on was the Pork Chops with Mushrooms, Onion and a Rosemary Cream Sauce.

Date Night: Leatherby's Cafe Rouge & The Nutcracker

Although the new year isn't upon us just yet we are gearing up for it in a big way. One of the resolutions you will read about in a couple of weeks is both Jenn and my desire to get out more and go to the theater. Our first foray back into the theater happened for our anniversary at South Coast Rep to go see One Man, Two Guvnors. Easily one of the best plays we've ever seen. Chef Joel & Jenn: Shredded Chicken Tacos

Jake has been telling me that the best way to make chicken tacos is in the crock pot. I've been hesitant as all of the chicken I've done previously in the crock pot has always dried out. Chef Joel & Jenn: Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

After an incredible Thanksgiving weekend it was back to life and reality for us. But that didn't mean we couldn't put together a new recipe on a Monday night. I've been really struggling for inspiration. I've cooked a lot of the things I love most steak, hamburgers, tacos, and pasta. And so as I continue this journey of finding new things to cook and master it's hard to choose. I spend far more time then I'm willing to admit researching new recipes.

Dinner Review: Hopdoddy

Even though we don't live in Fashion Island anymore we still try to go back as much as possible. It still feels like home. Jenn found a new hair stylist at Fashion Island before our recent trip and so I met her after her most recent hair appointment for dinner at a new burger place called Hopdoddy.

Lunch Review: Kabuki Japanese Restaurant

I wish I could write more of these posts. Every once in a while I will work from home and Jenn and I will have a day where our schedules align and we get to have lunch together. This past week was one of those weeks and we decided not to go with our normal lunch spot, The Melt, but instead went to Kabuki Japanese Restaurant.
