April 2015 is a Great Month for TV

Last year I wrote a post that talked about 3 shows that Jenn and I were extremely excited to have returning to TV in April. This couldn't come at a better time as I don't know how much more Good Wife I can endure without a break (we've watched 2 seasons or 45+ episodes). Its a good show but we've watched a ton of it. So here are four shows that are going to require us to move on to greener (or darker) pastures.

Game of Thrones (April 12th on HBO)

Is anyone really surprised by this? It's by far one of my favorite TV shows of all time and also one of my favorite books of all time. Season 5 will be the first to diverge from the books. With George R.R. Martin announcing that the sixth book won't be out until at least 2016, it will be the first season that both Jenn and I won't know what's coming. Besides Winter of course!

Silicon Valley (April 12th on HBO)

Although I didn't write up my thoughts on Season 1 of Silicon Valley last year I can say that my overall thoughts was that the show truly came into its own the last 2-3 episodes. I'm super excited to see what they plan to do with the gang now that they have got some funding (spoiler). This will be a really nice pallet cleanser after the dark tone of Game of Thrones.

Mad Men (April 5th on AMC)

I'm not sure what to expect from the final season of Mad Men. Its had such a fantastic run over the years (even if it wasn't perfect) that I'm sad to see it go. I love Mad Men. It's a really interesting and often chilling take on the 60's and 70's. My prediction (which is not original) is that the opening montage is predicting how the series will end.

Veep (April 12th on HBO)

I remember when Veep came out four years ago I was blown away with how funny it turned out to be. I thought for sure it was going to be another post-Seinfeld flop but it was anything but that. Veep has found its way over the years and I'm extremely excited to see what the 4th season will have in store for Veep.

That doesn't include some of the shows we still need to catch up on. I really want to catch up on both Daredevil (released today), Marco Polo and Better Call Saul which just wrapped up its first season.

Oh and before I forget one of the funniest videos of the last couple of weeks was with Jon Snow (of Game of Thrones) who he brought to a dinner party. Its pretty great.
