Dinner Review: Capital Noodle Bar

With each trip to the theater Jenn and I are taking those outing as an opportunity to go out and try new restaurants. On one of our latest outings to the theater we went and tried Capital Noodle a restaurant that just opened up next to one of our take-out go-to's, Halal Guys

Over the past six months I've been managing to get Jenn more and more into different types of Asian food. Whether it be Beef Noodle, Shabu Shabu, or Pho I've finally gotten Jenn on the bandwagon. We showed up at Capital Noodle Bar a little before 6PM and were given a table by the window. We were immediately served and ordered two soups. Jenn got the Filet Mignon Bowl with rice noodles, and I had the Trio of Beef bowl (Sliced filet mignon, beef ball, beef stew, large rice noodle).

We've both now had our fair share of these types of soups and this one ended up being one of our least favorite bowls we've had. The broth for both of us was the main problem. It was extremely salty and lacked the amazing flavor that you would expect from this type of dish. Jenn's was slightly better because her meat was a lot more tender then mine. I also didn't care for my beef ball that was in my soup either.

The one saving grace for this restaurant was the free dessert that we got for checking in on Yelp. It was like a churro but lighter. They provided some fresh made ice cream (I wish there was more) to go along with it. The dessert was delicious, sadly the rest of the meal left a lot to be desired.
