Beijing/Bali Trip 2013 Day 6: Water for Elephants
Waking up this morning was surreal. It was around 6AM and the sun was just poking through as rain clouds came crashing in. We opened the drapes to our massive wall to wall window that overlooks both the rainforest and the Ayung river. It's truly one of the most spectacular views I've ever had in a room. After laying around a bit this morning and taking in the tremendous sights we got ready for our day.
Beijing/Bali Trip 2013 Day 5: Come With Me If You Want To Fly
I've got to admit I had trouble sleeping last night after the incredible day at the Great Wall. I had so much adrenaline pumping from the day that I just didn't want to stop thinking about it. Luckily Jenn and I are both way off on time zones so waking up this morning to make our 7:30 AM flight out of Beijing was no problem. We had the alarm on for 3:30 AM and were out of the hotel by 4:30 AM. I can finally say that we drove in Beijing when there wasn't any traffic and made it to the airport in less then an hour.
Beijing/Bali Trip 2013 Day 4: Its Not Good, Its Great
After two incredible days we have now arrived at our last day in Beijing, China. After pushing out our trip to the Great Wall of China to the last day of our time in Beijing all we could do is pray that the weather held up as predicted. We woke up this morning closer to a reasonable hour (4:00 AM) and once again got a relatively early start to the day. We went down to breakfast at 8:30 AM and had our new found favorite buffet. We both agreed that although it was still good there was definitely a diminishing return and we were looking forward to doing something else for breakfast for the rest of the trip.
Beijing/Bali Trip 2013 Day 3: I'm Too Tired to Eat This Burger
We woke up this morning at 4:00 AM, so we obviously haven't fully transitioned to the Chinese time zone. That gave Jenn and I time to go over photos from the previous day and get ready for today. Originally we had planned to go to the Great Wall but after talking to the concierge he recommended to go on Sunday for less crowds and better weather, so we obliged. So instead today was all about continuing our touring from yesterday, but this time using the subways.
Beijing/Bali Trip 2013 Day 2: Rickshaw Robbery
Welcome to Beijing China. After flying in last night and getting at least ten hours of sleep Jenn and I were ready to go this morning. We both woke up at around 6AM and began getting ready for our first full day. We mapped out our plan of attack for the and headed down to the first floor for breakfast.
Beijing/Bali Trip 2013 Day 1: Cold Showers and Engine Lights
Both Jenn and I did our best to go to sleep early last night to get ready for a long travel day. We woke up this morning at 4:30 AM and both were ready to take on the day. Well that mood lasted all of about five minutes when our hotel room's shower didn't have warm water. In most circumstances we would have called down and had the hotel fix the issue but we were on a time crunch. Jenn who had her whole morning mapped out, down to the very last minute braved the freezing cold shower. Not the best way to start your morning.
