Europe Trip 2012 Day 9 (June 30, 2012): Everywhere but Anywhere

It's so great to be back in Italy. Yesterday was our first full day in Venice and it was a great start to our time here. Today was the first day of the trip where Jenn and I actually slept in until 9:30AM, which felt great and made us even more prepared for the day.

We headed into Venice at noon and took our hotels boat transportation to take us across the canal to the mainland of Venice. We really didn't have any major plans for the day so we decided to look for the cruise port to see where we would be starting our cruise on Monday. Visually it seems pretty easy to find things in Venice but once you start going through various alleyways and and bridges it's almost impossible not to get lost. Needless to say we got lost and it took at least an hour to find the port and when we did we were exhausted.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 8 (June 29, 2012): The Curse of the Lemon Shots

What a great way to start off our time here last night with a great dinner and time walking around Venice. We woke up this morning at around 8AM and started to get ready for our first full day in Venice. Did I mention it's hot here? Well it is and so we tried our best to dress appropriately but it doesn't matter what you wear as the heat will still get you.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 6 (June 27, 2012): From the Top

St. Moritz continues to amaze me. When Jenn and I woke up today we could not have asked for a more beautiful day. There was almost no clouds in the sky and the sun was shining brightly over the lake and surrounding town. From the gloom of yesterday the majestic summer morning made us even more excited for our final full day in St. Moritz.

Europe Trip 2012: Day 4 (June 25, 2012): On Top of the World

The trip is now officially underway. After the international travel nightmare and the beautiful train ride into St. Moritz now the trip can really begin. In typical Joel and Jenn fashion we did not adjust to the time change that well. We woke up this morning at around 1:30AM and were wide awake. We laid around, looked at our first batch of pictures, Jenn re-packed her suitcase, and we were all around lazy until we went down to breakfast at 8:30. The breakfast buffet is included with the price of the room at the Kempinski, and not only is the breakfast buffet one of the best we have ever been to, I believe it may be the best period. Let’s start with the selection. You have six different freshly squeezed juices, champagne, and every type of coffee or espresso imaginable. And the best part is everything we have tried so far has been delicious. Even though it was our first of four free breakfasts we both tried all sorts of interesting dishes. Jenn fell in love with the grape yogurt and I was torn between the breakfast pizza and the cold meats. Needless to say we loved breakfast and look forward to taking full advantage the next three days.
