Heading Off to Barcelona, Spain!!!
Well Jenn and I are out of here again, this time we are off to Barcelona, Spain for a nice week getaway from the hustle and bustle of Southern California to the cool air of Barcelona, Spain. This is by far the quickest lead up to a trip either Jenn or I have ever experienced, since we only booked the flights and hotels a few weeks back getting some killer deals on British Airways and using some of our credit card points for some of our stay. Now a few weeks later we now see why BA might have been giving such great deals with this pending impending crew strike that thus far has not altered or affected our flight plans.
A Wonderful Road Trip to San Francisco
Both Jenn and I in the last year have started working full time after finishing up our bachelor degrees at UC Irvine. Working full time is a huge blessing, it means we have a steady paycheck, and can start saving up for our future together. The negative side of it is that we have less time to be spontaneous and less of a chance to just get away whenever we want. Luckily we had some amazing planned spontaneity when we took a few days off along side Veterans Day. What was great about taking this time off is that we had no plans what so ever for this 5 day weekend. On Veterans Day we decided to keep it close to home and figure out what to do from there. When Jenn and I walked over to Fashion Island for lunch I brought up the idea of a road trip we immediately spent lunch on our iPhones surfing Kayak for deals on hotels. We ended up going with a road trip up to San Francisco for 3 nights and 4 days.
Honeymoon Day 7 (September 27, 2009): Goodbye Europe, Hello Home!
It's amazing how quickly vacations go by. Jenn and I planned our Honeymoon back in January and for all of the hours that we put into planning it, it sure goes by quick. Although a very quick trip it was also an amazing Honeymoon, one that far exceeded both Jenn and my expectations. We woke up on our last morning in London with heavy hearts and heavy eye lids as the trip once again caught up to us. Our original plan on this final day in Europe was to head to the park where we both got engaged but given the small amount of time to make our flight and the fact that we wanted to rest we decided that we were better off saving that for another trip.
Honeymoon Day 6 (September 26, 2009): Off to our Favorite City in the World, London
What a journey Scotland turned out to be. I know going into our Honeymoon Jenn and I really didn't have much in terms of expectations but more just a sincere excitement to go somewhere new. To maximize our time in London we took the first flight out of Edinburgh to Heathrow in London. We ended up leaving The Gleneagles at 5am where we walked downstairs where our driver was waiting for us. We got to the airport in less then an hour and made our way through security relatively quickly as well. We took an extremely small 30 passenger plane that actually got us in a half hour early at around 10am.
Honeymoon Day 5 (September 25, 2009): Spa + Golf = Great
After the most relaxing day of the trip so far we decided to keep the theme alive with our last full day at the Gleneagles in Scotland. We woke up and actually made breakfast this morning something that has been a challenge the entire trip. We had another really nice Scottish breakfast and were off and ready to enjoy the rest of the day.
Honeymoon Day 4 (September 24, 2009): The Day it all Caught Up to Us
After two straight days of pure bliss traveling through Scotland it all caught up with Jenn and I. When I woke up at 9:30am I asked Jenn if she wanted to make it before breakfast ended at 10am, she gave me the look that spoke a thousand and words and were back to sleep. I am not one that usually likes to sleep in but the next time I woke up and saw the time on the Bose Clock Radio next to the bed it was almost 3:00pm. Both of our bodies felt just pure exhaustion from the wedding, the flight over, the two days of traveling through Scotland that we really needed to catch up on our rest.
