When I woke up this morning I was in disbelief that today was already our last day in Abu Dhabi. It felt like just yesterday we were driving past the Grand Mosque on our way to the St. Regis. And yet like clockwork the alarm went off at 9 AM and we were down at breakfast for one last run. Jenn had an omelette, Jake had an egg white omelette and I stuck with a light buffet breakfast. We took our time before heading back up to our room and packing up our suitcases.

Yesterday we went to three incredible destinations in Abu Dhabi which made for quite the day. I still can’t get over how beautiful and memorable each of the destinations were. To follow all of that up we decided that we wanted a more relaxing final day in Abu Dhabi. We woke up at around 9 AM and Jake and I went for a quick work out downstairs. We came back up and got ready and the three of us went down for a lovely quick breakfast. I’m still blown away with how great of a breakfast spread The St. Regis puts on.

I cannot tell you how nice it was to start today with some relaxation. We all slept in without trying after staying up relatively late the night before and didn’t let the bright Arabian sun wake us up. When we finally rolled out of bed Jake and I went down to the third floor to get a workout in while Jenn slept. Even after we arrived back in our room after an almost hour long workout Jenn decided not to join us for breakfast downstairs. She really missed out because like every St Regis we’ve visited they sure do know how to put on a breakfast spread. They had a little bit of everything along with a menu to order different egg items from. Jake got some eggs benedict and I just stuck with a light breakfast from the buffet. We had a nice little brother date in the beautiful breakfast room before heading back up to the room.

And just like that we’ve hit the end of our time in our first stop, Cairo. Luckily this morning we woke up at a more reasonable hour and were packed up and in the hotels Mercedes to take us back to the Cairo airport for the third time in 24 hrs. We dropped off our bags at the Egypt Air counter and made our way to our gate. Before that though we did grab a quick bite at Burger King where a Spanish family was having a full blown yelling match with the poor guy at the counter over their order. Luckily our two happy meals and double cheeseburger came out just fine and we were nice and fed before boarding the three hour flight from Cairo to Abu Dhabi.

We went to sleep last night basking in the golden glow of the pyramids and a great day exploring Cairo. Unfortunately that sleep was cut short with an early morning flight. Our alarms rang out a little before 4 AM and we were downstairs and in the lobby by 4:30 AM to have our driver take us back to Cairo International Airport for our full-day tour of Luxor. We got dropped off, went through security and grabbed a couple of coffees and waited in the business class lounge for our flight to Luxor. Our tour company was nice enough to upgrade our outgoing flight to a business class seat so we got to enjoy a little extra comfort on our hour flight to Luxor. 

I’ll just cut to the point, today was as close to perfect as you could ever ask for. Today was our first big tour of the trip and was one that we all were so excited about. We woke up early this morning, around 5:30 AM and went down to breakfast a little after 6:30 AM. We knew it was going to be nearly eight hours of touring today so we wanted to make sure we got a good breakfast in. Instead of ordering it to the room, we went down to the tea room and a nice breakfast of omelettes, crepes, coffee and orange juice. We tried to load up as much as possible on what was an amazing breakfast. We came back to our room, got ready and headed back to the lobby to meet up with our tour guide Hepa from Egypt Tailor Made.
