Europe Trip 2012 Day 20 (July 11, 2012): Jenn's Day #2

I remember when we booked this cruise over a year ago my only trepidation with the itinerary was the lack of at sea days. I knew looking at the itinerary that after five straight days of stops, today was going to be a much needed day of rest. And that's exactly what it turned out to be.

Jenn took full advantage of our second and final at sea day. We both woke up at around 9:30AM and Jenn made her way down to the Spa with Amy to both get facials at 10:30AM. Judging solely on how relaxed she looked when we met up at around noon I can say that she absolutely loved the spa. I on the other hand laid around in the room and walked around the ship with Jake until noon where the whole family met up to have lunch in the dining room. It was a nice light lunch Jenn had soup and a burger and I had the salad bar with enchiladas.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 19 (July 10, 2012): Money, Just Dirty Paper In Your Pocket

After what was an amazing day in Santorini, I know we were all excited for what was to come today in Mykonos, Greece. However unlike yesterday today we did not have an excursion which meant we didn't have to wake up at six in the morning and be down at the Palladium Theater. So instead we all had a much more leisurely morning. Jenn and I ordered room service our normal of cereal, (Special K and Frosted Flakes) a fruit plate, an order of pastries, and coffee.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 18 (July 9, 2012): White Haven

After two great days in Turkey we are now back in Greece for our first of two more stops in Greece before closing out the cruise in Croatia. Today we are in Santorini, Greece a first time for Jenn and I and also marks our last official excursion for the trip. Jenn and I woke up at 7AM to get ready for the excursion which is by far the earliest we have had to wake up on the trip.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 17 (July 8, 2012): Diving Into Bodrum

You know a trip is going well when you have no idea what day it is, what time it is, or what's coming up next. That was the case waking up this morning, it was just that pure sense of vacation, without a care in the world. We did have to wake up a bit earlier today at around 8AM to get down to the Palladium Theater at 8:45AM for our excursion in Bodrum, Turkey. Going into Bodrum I really didn't have any expectations and I think that goes for everyone else in the family as well. It doesn't appear to be all that popular of a cruise port for any other cruise line outside of Royal Caribbean, but after today I think that is a shame.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 16 (July 7, 2012): Hot Rocks

Another day, another port. Today marks our first of two stops in Turkey, this one in Kusadassi (Ephesus) Turkey and then tomorrow off to Bodrom Turkey. Our original plan today was to go to the amazing Aqua Park which is a couple of miles from the port but that excursion going cancelled due to lack of participants. We figured going into it that the chances of us being able to go were slim but getting the notice was still a bummer. We decided instead since we were in Kusadassi in 2008 to not go back to Ephesus which we did an eight hour tour on already, but instead stay and explore Kusadassi. My parents on the other hand booked a half-day tour that took them to many of the great sights in Ephesus. They seemed to enjoy it but once again seemed as though the weather deterred them.

Europe Trip 2012 Day 15 (July 6, 2012): Touring Athens With Our Driver Niko

Sometimes things happen for a reason. That was the thought that we all went to bed with knowing that our original plan had fallen apart. We received a note yesterday that our excursion which was to take us to the Athens City Center had been cancelled due to mechanical issues. Our original plan was to get dropped off, shop and eat. So we woke up this morning at around 9AM ordered some room service (cereal, fruit, pastries, and coffee) and got ready for the day.
