Extraordinary Adventure 2018 Day 14: Sailing into the Sunset
Having a late flight is a double edge sword. On one hand you don’t have to wake up early and rush out of the hotel. On the other you lose some or most of your day to travel. We didn’t have to leave our Madrid hotel this morning until 11 AM so we stayed relatively lazy. I was able to get a run in and by the time I got back and showered it was time to head to the airport.
Extraordinary Adventure 2018 Day 13: So Much Wine = Good Time
If I was going to encapsulate today in three words it would be long, incredible, and delicious. We woke up this morning at 6:30 AM and had to be out of the hotel by 8 AM. I went across the street and grabbed a cappuccino at Starbucks and we were out the door to meet our tour guide for the day, Pablo, outside our hotel.
Extraordinary Adventure 2018 Day 12: The Cultured Madrid
I'll be completely honest, we probably had a little too much to drink last night. We woke up at 7 AM and decided we needed a little bit more sleep. Four hours later we woke up with the sun shining in our room and our bodies still recovering from a fun food tour last night. When we finally did recover enough to go outside we missed our free breakfast (probably not the last time) and instead went across the street to Starbucks. Jenn got her normal hot chocolate and I had a cappuccino. After we scarfed those down we were on our way.
Extraordinary Adventure 2018 Day 11: Will Bike for Food
After two days of relaxation, today we picked back up where we left off with a full schedule. We woke up a little before 8 AM and went down stairs for breakfast at 9 AM. This was our first breakfast at the Gran Melia Fenix and it was pretty good. Jenn went light and just had some eggs, sausage and orange juice. I followed suit with some eggs, deli meats, salami, cheese, and a small churro. We got done with breakfast, grabbed an Uber and were on our way.
Extraordinary Adventure 2018 Day 10: Spanish Love
We've officially reached the half-way point of our trip. Our first two stops are now at a close and I'm now writing this post from Madrid, Spain. But let's start at the beginning. We had a 2PM flight out of Marrakech so we had plenty of time this morning to wake up leisurely and relax while we waited for our ride to the airport.
Barcelona Trip Day 6 (March 9, 2010): Make the Time Adjust to You
By this point in our trip Jenn and I have completely given up on trying to adjust to Barcelona's time, it is just not going to happen. So we ended up getting to sleep at around 5am and woke up close to 1pm. We headed down to the concierge to have him print out our boarding passes for our flight back to LAX tomorrow. After we got that taken care of and had our boarding passes prepared we were off to enjoy the day. Jenn had one more place she wanted to check off her list before leaving Barcelona and that was the Sagrada Familia one of the "must see's" according to the few travel websites we read before coming. Instead of taking a taxi, or any form of public transportation to the Sagrada Familia, Jenn thought it would be a lot of fun to walk from our hotel to the church. She spent about fifteen minutes mapping out our route, and then we were off.
