Extraordinary Adventure 2018 Day 9: Relaxing the Moroccan Way
Not every day is going to be full of tours and excursions. Well most of them will, but not today. Today was our last day in Marrakech and we wanted to take full advantage of the beautiful Four Seasons hotel, and that's exactly what we did. After leisurely waking up a little after 8 AM we went down to breakfast and had our normal omelets, crepes, and other normal breakfast items.
After we got done I dropped Jenn off at the spa for her 3-hours of treatment. She got what the hotel called the Moroccan well-being treatment. She started off with the authentic hammam indulgence where she had her entire (including every nook and cranny) exfoliated for over an hour with different oils and clays from Morocco while being showered off by her masseuse. It sounded like quite the experience, a little similar to the full body wraps we got in Thailand. Then she had an hour massage followed by a hour facial. I came to the spa an hour later and had their 75-minute signature massage which was a fifteen-minute foot scrub followed by an hour massage. Both of us came out of the spa feeling refreshed and relaxed, exactly what you need for the mid-point of a long trip.
After the amazing spa treatments, we went and laid by our private pool on our patio for the next couple of hours, surfing our phones, reading our books, and talking about what we should do for vacations in the next couple of years. At around 4 PM we grabbed a taxi to take us to the only Starbucks in Marrakech at a nearby mall. After being dropped off at the mall we quickly found a Starbucks, grabbed one of the last remaining Marrakech mugs in the Starbucks and left to go back to our hotel.
We spent the next two hours laying on our patio, reading our books, and enjoying a nice cool Marrakech evening. For our last dinner in Marrakech, we decided to go back to the same restaurant we had our first night at the Four Seasons, Inara. Because we went to dinner after 7 PM we got their full dinner menu and are glad we did. I started off with a beer and we just ordered entrees. Jenn had a meatball crockpot dish that was like a Moroccan version of an English pie and was to die for. I had their lamb kebab with rice and a pepper/onion salad that was very good. We ate up the entire plate of both dishes and left very happy from our final meal in Marrakech.
When we arrived back at our room we packed up our bags, set an alarm, and concluded what was a very relaxing last day in this beautiful city.
