Movie Review: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I usually try to write reviews for movies/TV shows pretty quickly after consuming them. I'd rather write down my initial thoughts and not let them be swayed one way or another. However, I didn't do that with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It's been over two weeks since Jenn and I went to Big Newport Cinema in Newport Beach and sat in their giant new recliners in their RPX theater to take in this latest superhero movie.
We Finally Saw The Book of Mormon
I cannot believe that I'm already writing about the end of our first of two season passes to go to the theater. We started out with and If/Then followed by The Illusionists, and although not part of the season pass (bought separately) we also saw The Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses. At the time of this post we've already purchased one season pass for the 16/17 season and are planning to by at least one or two more before the seasons begin.
TV Review: Love Season 1
Neither Jenn or I have ever been big Judd Apatow fans. Even some of his bigger movies like Knocked Up, 40 Year-Old Virgin, and Pineapple Express are movies we only passably enjoyed. And yet after watching the promo's for Love, a Netflix series we both were sucked in and finished the first season a couple of weeks ago.
TV Review: Downton Abbey Season 5
It's hard to imagine that we're already on the fifth season of Downton Abbey. A show that began with such intrigue and promise is already five seasons in. Let's take a step back for a second. Downton Abbey a show that's on PBS about the both the wealthiest and poorest English in the early 1900's has been one of the most popular shows over the last couple of years. On its own its quite the achievement.
TV Review: BoJack Horseman Season 2
In late 2015 I binge watched all of BoJack Horseman Season 1 and then followed that up by re-watching it with Jenn. What's funny is I remember telling Jenn after I got done watching the first episode that she would love it. She scoffed a little and thought because it was animated that it couldn't have deep rewarding qualities. Well we're now both officially hooked and bought in, as BoJack Horseman Season 2 was even better then its rookie season.
Movie Review: Deadpool
In general it's very rare that I see a movie in theaters anymore. Jenn and I spend so much more time watching Netflix/Amazon/Hulu or going to live performances that it leaves little to no time to go see movies in theaters. It's even more rare that I go see a movie in theaters that I wasn't looking forward to for a long time. But worlds collided and while Jenn and Amy went to get a massage, Jake and I went to go see Deadpool.
