Serial Podcast - You Need to Listen To This
As I've posted several times on the blog I love to listen to both podcast and audiobooks. A couple of months back my DarkCast compatriot Jonathan recommended a podcast called Serial. It's put on by the same people that do This American Life. It's a twelve episode podcast series hosted by Sarah Koenig who looks into the real-life 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee who was in High School. A couple of months after her murder, her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed was convicted of her murder with only one of his friends (Jay) testimony as evidence.
It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year - Christmas Decorations 2014 Edition
With each passing year I feel like I'm becoming more and more into Christmas. In early October of this year I can remember driving with Jenn somewhere and just blurting out "I can't wait for the holidays." Sure as a kid I always loved the gift aspect of the season but now I'm starting to care less about that and more just the joy of the season. A big reason for that is Jenn's hard work in making our home into a Christmas wonderland.
TV Review: Newsroom Season 3
Jenn and I have never been shy about our love for Aaron Sorkin's Newsroom on HBO. Over the last couple of years when we've sat down and talked about our favorite TV shows, Newsroom has been a staple. When the show was renewed for its third season earlier this year, HBO also announced that it would be the shows last. Newsroom started with one of the most hooking scenes I've ever seen a show start with. Will McAvoy (played by Jeff Daniels) goes off on a five minute monologue about why America isn't the greatest country in the world.
Movie Review: Whiplash
One of my favorite movies of the last couple of years was The Spectacular Now. If you haven't seen that movie you really need to do yourself a favor and go see it. Miles Teller who before that movie was known more as a comedic actor provided one of the best performances I've ever seen. It was a great movie. So when I saw the trailer for his newest movie Whiplash I was in.
Board Game Review: Monopoly Deal Card Game
Recently I discovered that people who consider themselves board game enthusiasts really look down upon Monopoly. They say its a bad game. I disagree and love Monopoly. However its a long game and getting Jenn to agree to play it more then once every couple of years is unlikely. However when at church, Pastor Kenton mentioned a Monopoly Card game I immediately (after the service of course) went on Amazon and purchased it.
