My Most Anticipated Movies For the Rest of 2014
Who says all the good movies come out during the summer? You may remember that I posted earlier this year my most anticipated movies of the Spring/Summer and most of those movies were a flop. So here's a list of movies that I'm looking forward to for the rest of 2014.
TV Review: Homeland Season 2
It's been almost two years since Jenn and I watched the first season of Homeland. It was one of the best first seasons of a show I've ever watched. In a lot of ways it hit all the right beats. It had a level of suspense, character development, and twists that isn't something you'd expect in the first season of a TV show. Homeland had a lot to live up to on Season 2.
Movie Review: Boyhood
I think my taste in movies is changing. I used to be all about the big summer blockbuster. I still get pumped for them. But I always feel shortchanged. A part of me just wants more from a movie. Make me think. Make me feel. Take me on a journey. Well Boyhood is just the movie I was looking for. Before Jenn and I went to see the movie we walked over and had a great sushi dinner at Blue C Sushi in Fashion Island. We then walked over to the luxury Island Cinema and caught our movie.
Movie Review: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
My dad loves Planet of the Apes. Growing up I watched the Charlton Heston movies all the time. I remember even thinking as a kid how neat the concept was. It was kind of my first foray into science fiction. So I've got a deep love and nostalgia for the franchise.
Movie Review: Lucy
It's very rare that I come out of a movie completely deflated and disappointed. I almost always avoid poorly reviewed movies but the trailers for the Scarlett Johansson led movie Lucy made me second guess it.
TV Review: Downton Abbey Season 4
Jenn absolutely loves Downton Abbey. Kind of crazy that one of Jenn's favorite shows is a PBS show but in all honesty I love Downton Abbey as well. Who wouldn't love Mr & Mrs Bates? Or the very witty Mr. Carson and Lady Crawley. The cast of Downton Abbey is absolutely fantastic and makes for one of the best shows on TV.
