Election 2016: Completely and Utterly Devastated
The clock reads 11:40PM and I just saw a tweet from the Associated Press that they’ve awarded the election to Donald J Trump. It’s a sentence that I have a hard time trying to fathom. When I got home from work a little after 4:30PM the first state results were coming in and everything just felt slightly closer then polls were suggesting pre-election. I spent so much of the last three weeks reading websites like 538, New York Times, Slate, Politico, and the like. All polls and signs pointed to a Clinton landslide, if not that then a solid victory. Nothing could prepare me though for the devastation of learning that Donald Trump will be our next President.
Why Jenn and I Are #WithHer
For anyone that knows me, you know that I am strongly on the side of Hillary Clinton in this election. As I sit here writing this post, we are only a few days away from the election. It's hard for me to even contemplate that there's still a potential for a President Trump. As I write this my entire stomach is clenched in anticipation and fear of what Tuesday's election will bring.
Headspace - 10 Days of Meditation
Over the last year or so I've been on a path to take better care of myself. As I move from months to days away to turning 30, I've spent a lot of time reevaluating how I take care of myself. It started off right around my 29th birthday last year and has continued throughout 2016.
An Unexpected New 2016 Prius
It may seem like I go through cars quickly, and the truth is if you look at my history with cars I really do. I'm not even a car person. I really don't like cars. It's one of those areas of my life that I spend a ton of time in but wish I didn't have to. When I sat down to write this post the first thing I did was develop a timeline for my car history.
We Finally Saw The Book of Mormon
I cannot believe that I'm already writing about the end of our first of two season passes to go to the theater. We started out with and If/Then followed by The Illusionists, and although not part of the season pass (bought separately) we also saw The Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses. At the time of this post we've already purchased one season pass for the 16/17 season and are planning to by at least one or two more before the seasons begin.
Casa de Szerlip: A New Dining Area
This is my first "Case de Szerlip" blog post since we sold the house. I didn't anticipate writing nearly as many of these now that we are happily back in an apartment. However when we quickly moved into our apartment in July of 2015 we took what furniture we had and made it work. Now nearly a year later we've renewed our lease to mid-2017 and wanted to continue making our apartment home.
