Casa de Szerlip: A New Dining Area
This is my first "Case de Szerlip" blog post since we sold the house. I didn't anticipate writing nearly as many of these now that we are happily back in an apartment. However when we quickly moved into our apartment in July of 2015 we took what furniture we had and made it work. Now nearly a year later we've renewed our lease to mid-2017 and wanted to continue making our apartment home.
Who Do We Side With - 2016 Presidential Race
I'm sorry in advance. I've tried to keep the majority of my political views off my blog. So if you're easily offended or don't like hearing others political views you might want to stop reading now. For those that are continuing to read bare with me, this might be a short albeit bumpy ride.
My Personal Goals for 2016
Last year was the first year that I've published my personal goals/resolutions on my blog. Most years I will jot down some ideas on my phone or a notepad and then forget about it. The hope of posting it here is that it will hold me more accountable to actually achieving these goals for myself. This year I'm making a slight change to what I did last year. Most of my goals in 2015 didn't have actual targets, instead more lofty ideals. So this year for the majority of my goals I have quantifiable targets that I hope to achieve. So here we go 2016 lets make this happen.
A Tale of Two Years - 2015 A Year in Review
I began writing these year-in-review posts in 2007. It's the longest running tradition on my blog and remains one of my favorite posts to write each year. It's an opportunity for me to sit down and reflect on the year that was. It's also an opportunity to go back and read about previous years and compare. Before writing this post I read all of my year-end posts and I can tell you that each year has its fair share of peaks of valleys. And yet what I found even more interesting was not those moments but the days, weeks and months following those peaks and valleys.
Our Favorite Things From 2015
And welcome to the 5th annual "Our Favorite Things" post. That's right Jenn and I have been collaborating on this yearly post now for five years. Curious what our favorite things were from 2011, we have it (and from 2012, 2013, and 2014). So without any further ado here are our favorite things from 2015.
Recap Goals of 2015 - How Did I Do?
I've seen a lot of stats thrown around about people and their new years resolutions. I think most consistently you hear that 80-90% of resolutions fail. In an effort to hold myself accountable and push myself even further in 2016 I wanted to take some time and look back on the goals I set out for myself in 2015 (written a year ago) and see how I did.
