Our Favorite Things From 2015
And welcome to the 5th annual "Our Favorite Things" post. That's right Jenn and I have been collaborating on this yearly post now for five years. Curious what our favorite things were from 2011, we have it (and from 2012, 2013, and 2014). So without any further ado here are our favorite things from 2015.
Recap Goals of 2015 - How Did I Do?
I've seen a lot of stats thrown around about people and their new years resolutions. I think most consistently you hear that 80-90% of resolutions fail. In an effort to hold myself accountable and push myself even further in 2016 I wanted to take some time and look back on the goals I set out for myself in 2015 (written a year ago) and see how I did.
2015: My Year in Numbers
For seven years of my life I was an analyst. I spent much of my 40-hour work week running numbers in Excel and making it look pretty. 2015 in a lot of ways was the continuation of a trend of personal analytics. Using the power of "smart" technology you can learn a lot about yourself just by using the phone already in your pocket. I might have went a bit overboard this year but here is a look at a year in all of the statistics I've been tracking in 2015.
Christmas Decorations - 2015 Edition
What a year its been. 2015 is only the second time since Jenn and I have been married that we haven't decorated our home at The Colony in Newport Beach. Sort of crazy right? Although we anticipated this being the first year we decorated our new home that wasn't meant to be and we couldn't have been more excited to decorate our new apartment.
An Amazing Celebration of 6 Years Together
I cannot believe that Jenn and I have already been married six years. Not to mention the fact that we've been a couple for nearly a dozen years. To celebrate this momentous occasion I took the opportunity to plan a day. Not necessarily the most original idea since that's exactly what Jenn did for my 29th Birthday but alas I had some making up to do.
Profound Commencement Speech by David Foster Wallace
I very rarely just post a video on the blog. My goal for WorldOfJoel has been to write about stuff I love. Very rarely do YouTube videos have any real impact on my life so I don't post them. However today is different. I was driving to work this past week listening to one of my favorite podcasts, /Filmcast. They were doing a review of the movie The End of the Tour which is about an interview conducted with famed author David Foster Wallace.
