Jenn & I Purchased Our First Home
After two years of saving, planning, and researching it was time. On November 26th (the day before Thanksgiving) we went with our realtor to view the house that Jenn ran up to our apartment to tell me about. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the community could not have looked anymore stunning. We toured the home which was empty but for a little bit of rented furniture. The house was perfect. It's a two bedroom detached condo, a little over a 1000 sq. ft with an awesome outdoor flex space, and a ton of natural light. I think we both knew even before walking into the house that we would probably put an offer down. However after a few seconds in the house we both knew instantly that we absolutely wanted this house.
The Road Leading Up to Purchasing Our First Home
For the last year or two Jenn has been on a mission. That mission, for us to purchase our first home. After renting for the first 5 years of our marriage she was ready to settle down. Me on the other hand I could have stayed at our current apartment indefinitely. Eventually Jenn got me to come around and we began the journey.
My Personal Goals for 2015
Every year I sit down and write out my goals for the upcoming year. You've probably heard it a 1000 times but New Years resolutions never stick. I like to think that my goals are slightly different. My goals for 2015 aren't arbitrary, there tangible, measurable goals. I guess since I develop performance goals for a living I should be able to make goals for myself right? So here we go. Here are my goals for 2015.
A Look Back on an Epic 2014
I've been looking forward to writing this look back on 2014 since I finished typing up the 2013 year in review. Writing this post is one of my favorite things to do every year. It's an opportunity to look back on the last 365 days and recount the many blessings that have been bestowed on Jenn and I. And boy were they plentiful in 2014. It's hard to even know where to start. So lets begin where any good story begins, at the beginning.
It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year - Christmas Decorations 2014 Edition
With each passing year I feel like I'm becoming more and more into Christmas. In early October of this year I can remember driving with Jenn somewhere and just blurting out "I can't wait for the holidays." Sure as a kid I always loved the gift aspect of the season but now I'm starting to care less about that and more just the joy of the season. A big reason for that is Jenn's hard work in making our home into a Christmas wonderland.
