Last year Jenn and I started a new annual tradition to write up and rank our favorite shows of the year. It began with 18 shows last year and ballooned out a little this year to 24 for me and 21 for Jenn. This list does not include the multitude of political shows we watch (Last Week Tonight, The Daily Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Full Frontal) or reality shows (The Amazing Race and Top Chef). This list only includes scripted shows where we completed at least a season in the year.

One thing I noticed this year is that we stuck mainly with online distributors and a few premium cable shows. Here's the breakdown of shows watched by provider in 2016.

Sort of interesting that almost half of the television we watched this year was from Netflix. My guess is when we look at this chart in 2017 there will be even less of the primetime television we're watching on Amazon or Hulu.

Jenn's List for 2016

Jenn had a very different order from me this year starting out with her beloved Frasier (not surprised). We watched nearly all eleven seasons of Frasier in 2016 and Jenn would love nothing more if we just jumped right back into it after we complete it.
