A Wonderful Valentines Day Evening

Its been a couple of years since Jenn and I actually went out to eat on Valentines day. We love to go out to eat but getting a reservation to somewhere decent is almost impossible so we have stayed in the last couple of years. This year Valentines day fell on a Friday which meant we both had to work. My original plan was to get home by 4:30 and cook a surprise dinner, but that didn't happen. Instead I got home at 5:30 due to horrific traffic and had to make a change on the fly.

When I did get home I walked into an incredible gift basket that Jenn left for me. She got me a basket with my favorite candy (Hot Tamales, Snickers and Twix) along with some Lacoste cologne, a wine book, and The Internship bluray. It was honestly an incredible gift basket. 

Jenn got home a little after I got home and we walked over to California Pizza Kitchen to get a quick bite. I did have a small surprise for Jenn when she got back, I had a cheese fondue setup ready to go with plenty of different things to dip in. I used a cheddar cheese along with some wine and beer to bring out the flavor. It was our first time doing cheese fondue and we both can't wait to do it again. 

Along with our takeout we had an incredible Avalon Cabernet Sauvignon which was incredible. We had an absolute incredible evening filled with tons of laughs, great food, and our favorite wine. It was a simple v-day, but one of our best.
