Book Review: The Girl Who Played With Fire

I read the first book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in Stieg Larsson's Millennium Series almost two years ago. I really enjoyed the book but then got fully engrossed into the epic Game of Thrones series and kind of forgot about the Millennium Series. Well now that I am caught up on George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series I went back and purchased the second book in the series The Girl Who Played With Fire.

Right away I enjoyed the second book in the series far more then the first. The main characters Mikhail Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander are better defined characters who's actions seem more in line with their characters. The book also has a far more engaging first half which was an area that I really struggled with the first book in the series.

It's always a good sign for a book if I am spending my lunch or even waiting in my car for a few extra minutes before or after work to get to the end of a chapter. I came out of this book far more impressed and engrossed in teh series then I did with the first. I can't wait to see how Stieg Larsson managed to finish off the series after the crazy stuff that happened at the end of this book.
