Welcome to the New World of Joel!

This has been a long time coming. Like a year or so in the making. I would be lying if I said that I had been tirelesly working on the new World of Joel over the past year because I haven't. What I have wanted to do however is freshen up the place and get back to posting. Before I go any further there are two people I should thank. First a thanks goes out to Syanne Djaenal who drew the Ned Stark (from Game of Thrones) like version of myself for my header. The other big thank you goes out to my wife Jenn who designed the header. I think she did a fantastic job and I love the new look.

So what's new on the site? Well first off I moved from Wordpress to Squarespace. The reason for the move was two fold. First off I like the the customization options on the site and what it lets me do. And secondly and probably more importantly its something different and I am always up for messing with a new backend system.

Other then that I have on the right hand sidebar my Instragram photos, Good Reads Feed (shows the last 3 books I read with ratings) and links to all sorts of social networks I am associated with. I think the new design will be a huge leep forward for my blog and I cannot wait to see what's to come!
