A Perfect Sunday - 4th Street Market & Disneyland

The last couple of weekends have been busy. With the holidays fast approaching and Jenn I both relatively new to our current jobs we haven't had a ton of time to enjoy the weekends. This past weekend (before Thanksgiving) has been the first one that we've actually been able to relax and enjoy.

Our Saturday was uneventful. We spent much of the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views from our apartment. I did watch the first episode of Jessica Jones on Netflix which was amazing and Jenn watched for the first time Bridgette Jones's Diary which she didn't stop laughing at. We even got to take in my favorite sermon of the year at Mariner's Church the "Thankful" message which Kenton does every year. So it was a great Saturday. But Sunday was even better.

Jenn has gone to two work events at a place in Santa Ana called the 4th Street Market. The idea is that you have a lot of small up and coming food truck type restaurants pop up in a modern food court. We went on this past Sunday morning for breakfast and were both extremely happy to find it quiet but sad to only find a few vendors open. Before deciding on a place to eat Jenn took me on a tour and the place is incredible. There are at least a dozen different types of foods to choose from all of which sound unique and delicious.

We went to a place called Ktchn dtsa which served breakfast all-day. We split their breakfast burrito which had egg,  cheese, potatoes, jalapeno aioli and chile verde pork. While Jenn was ordering our burrito I went to Portola Coffee Lab one of the best rated coffee places in Orange County. I got a cappuccino which was really good but I didn't get the same level of hype as I had heard about Portola before coming.

When I came back from the coffee shop our monstrosity of a burrito arrived and was out of this world good. They had three sauces to go with it one of which was a habanero sauce that I thought might literally kill me. It was one of the hottest sauces I've ever tasted. I didn't realize it was going to be that hot and I dunked a huge piece of pork in it and my eyes began to water and my throat screamed like it was on fire. I had to get an extra bottle of water before my mouth would stop screaming in agony.

We left 4th Street Market and went back home to change clothes (it got really warm out) and headed back out to Disneyland. It's been a couple of months since we've been there and it was great to go back. We walked around main street and enjoyed the entirety of it decorated for Christmas. We shopped around a bit and got a fast pass for Splash Mountain. By this point Jenn's shoes were bothering her and she was bleeding pretty good from a blister on her heal. We left Disneyland and got some new sandals for her at Quicksilver in Downtown Disney. We made our way back and enjoyed our first ride on Splash Mountain in quite some time.

We walked around Disneyland for another half hour before deciding to throw the towel in on the day and headed home. We spent the rest of the day relaxing. I made Jenn some pasta and I had a sandwich from Jimmy Johns delivered before we closed out the day watching a ton of episodes of Masters of None on Netflix. It was the perfect Sunday and I hope we can replicate it again and again the coming months.
