2015 Reading Challenge: Books 16-20
I currently sit just barely on schedule to meet my goal of finishing 27 books in 2015. There's been a lot going on in the World of Joel (as anyone who frequents the blog would know) and as such my time for reading has been a bit limited. Not to mention with our recent move it brings me closer to work which means less time on the road to listen to books. And yet I keep trudging along and am now ready for the next batch of books I plan to partake in. My last batch was probably the best selection of five books so far with all but one being fantastic. Hopefully I can continue picking winners with books 16 through 20.
#16: Yes Please by Amy Poehler
Although I didn't love Neil Patrick Harris's autobiography I did enjoy it. I've had Yes Please by Amy Poehler on my list of books I own and need to read for a long time now so it feels like the perfect opportunity to jump into this one. I've been a fan of Poehler since her days on SNL and Parks and Recreation so excited to jump into her autobiography.
#17: The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi
You know how we're running out of water in California? Here's a book about what "could" happen if things don't get better anytime soon. What sounds to be a little like post-apocalyptic I'm excited to see how this one turns out.
#18: Finders Keepers by Stephen King
Stephen King doesn't have a lot of series. Most of his books are standalone. When I read Mr. Mercedes last year I never once thought while reading it that it would fall into a series. It was a very dark intense detective novel that was good but never felt great. I've heard good things about Finders Keepers so I'm hopeful it will be good.
#19: An Ember in Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Like Station Eleven I have no idea what An Ember in Ashes is about other then its a YA (young adult) book and its tearing up the charts. I've enjoyed my forays into the YA space especially most recently with Steelheart and Firefight. I hope this one delivers.
#20: Storm Front: The Desden Files by Jim Butcher
I struggled in a big way to figure out what book #20 was going to be. I had about ten different choices to round out the next five books and decided to go back to a purchase from a couple years ago. I've been avoiding reading Storm Front: The Desden Files because I know how many books are in the series. But if its good I wouldn't mind jumping into a lengthy series.
