2017 may go down as one of the best years of video games ever. It seemed like every single month another huge game was released making this one of the hardest years to put together my top five games. I also worked more hours in my day job then I've ever done in my life making it even harder to play all of these great games. But I was able to play enough to make me feel reasonably confident that these are my favorite five games from 2017.Read More
This is one of those rare years where I truly struggled to come up with five games that I felt truly deserved to make a "top five games" of a year list. On most years a lot of these games wouldn't have necessarily made my list (outside of my first pick). With that being said I will remember video games in 2016 not necessarily for the games that were released but for the games that were promised in future years. I'm looking at you Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Last of Us Part 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2.Read More
Back in 2013, both Jonathan and Brian interviewed Jason Michael Paul the creator of the Zelda Symphony of the Goddess for Darkstation. I remember listening to that episode and wanting with every fiber of my body to go to the symphony. I recently wrote about all the goals I have for myself in 2016. This post isn't going to be about any of that. In recent years I've played a lot of video games but less then 10% of them have I actually completed. This year I wanted to make a list of the games I've been meaning to complete for years. A few of these games I've actually completed before but I want to go through again. This does not include any of the amazing games coming out in 2016 which looks like it will shape up to be a great year.
Needless to say these are the games I'd like to carve out some time to complete in 2016.Read More
Sadly 2015 was probably the least amount of games I played in a long time. With two moves and just less games that appealed to me personally I just didn't put in the hours on my consoles like I have in the past couple of years. That's not to say I've at all fallen out of love with gaming or that I've grown bored of it. The games of 2015 were spectacular, in fact it might have been one of the best years in recent history. Sadly though the majority of those amazing games were in genres that I don't love.Read More
I mentioned in my rundown of the E3 experience that I would talk about the games of the show in a different post. I just didn't think I should mix photos of food and hotels with the thing that matters most about E3, video games. This year was a great year of E3. There were some truly remarkable games. Although not my favorite year of games I do have five games that I came out of the show super excited about.Read More
