Ranking the TV We Watched in 2019

Each year Jenn and I compile a list ranking the TV we watched over that past year. This year we just watched more TV than any other year. Part of that is that we stayed home more both because of Frasier and we traveled less in 2019. The good news is it was a phenomenal year for TV and I can speak for both Jenn and I when I say that ranking this year was harder than ever.

Ranking The TV We Watched in 2017

What an absolute treasure of a year for television. I struggled so badly to put this list together. And after talking with Jenn about her list we both really struggled with the top ten area of the list. What I found so interesting about this year's list is how many of our favorites dropped to the bottom of our list. I'm looking at you Veep, Silicon Valley, Orange is the New Black and Red Oaks. Luckily there were so many amazing new shows this year like The Handmaid's Tale, Big Little Lies, and Sneaky Pete.

Unbelievable Sunday - Federer Defies Age and Winter is Here

Most of the time when I write posts like this its because Jenn and I have gone out for brunch, or to a wine festival, or something out of our norm. But this past Sunday (July 16th) was actually a pretty average Sunday. It wasn't a particularly pretty day in Newport, nor was there anything major planned for the day. But by 7 AM it was clear, Roger Federer was about to defy age and reason once again.

Oscars 2017: Joel Takes A Close Victory

Like we've done for at least the last ten years, Jenn and I had our annual Oscar party where we print out a ballot and gather around the TV for four hours to watch The Academy Awards. This year we decided to cook spaghetti and meat sauce with fresh bread to dip in oil and vinegar. Jenn was just about to start her second week off of work (more on that in a future post) and decided to take up the mantle of cooking. I taught her my go-to pasta recipe and we cooked together right as the award ceremony began.
