My Most Anticipated Games For the Rest of 2014

Each year the video game industry hits a major lull during the summer months to ramp up into the holiday season. This year might be the weakest holiday lineup I've seen in years with many getting delayed to early 2015. But there are still a number of games I'm excited for between now and the end of the year, and here they are.

Madden NFL 15 (August 26, 2014)

The ramp up of new games really starts for me when Madden is released. In fact I had the great privilege of receiving an early copy of Madden NFL 15 and it turned out great. You should read my review

Destiny (September 9, 2014)

I'm really not sure if I'm going to like this game. Destiny comes from Bungie the makers of Halo and is said to be the start of a ten year franchise. It's part MMO, part shooter. I played some of the beta and decided I'd wait for the full game. Should be an interesting game/franchise.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (September 30, 2014)

You would think there would have been a great Lord of the Rings game by now but there really hasn't been. Shadow of Mordor seems like an excellent opportunity to build in the Tolkien lore without having to tread so closely to the events in the books.

NBA 2K15 (October 7, 2014)

I love the NBA 2K series. I absolutely love it. NBA 2K14 was one of the best games I played last year and I can't wait to see what 2K Sports does with 2K15. They really haven't said much yet. I hope they go big on the career mode so I can sink another 50 hours into the game this year.

Assassin's Creed Unity (October 28, 2014)

Out of this list, Assassin's Creed Unity is either my top or tied for the top of my list for most anticipated. I absolutely love this franchise, its probably my favorite in the last ten years, and this game looks to be another great step forward for the franchise. Its set in the French Revolution which should be a crazy time to be an Assassin.

Sunset Overdrive (October 28, 2014)

In a lot of ways I added Sunset Overdrive to the list more because I have faith in the developers (Insomniac Games) then I do in the game itself. An over-the-top action game set in a post apocalyptic world seems great I'm just worried this game might not be able to keep its edge throughout an entire game.

Assassin's Creed Rogue (November 11, 2014)

How lucky am I? There are not one, but two Assassin Creed games this year. Assassin Creed Rogue is coming out for the 360/PS3 where as Unity is coming out for the PS4 and Xbox One. What's interesting about Assassin's Creed Rogue though is that your playing as an ex-Assassin turned Templar. Really excited to see how it turns out.

Far Cry 4 (November 18, 2014)

I think Assassin Creed Unity is my most anticipated game for the rest of 2014, but a very very close second is Far Cry 4. I loved Far Cry 3 for its crazy story, open world, and great action. Far Cry 4 which is set in the Himalayas looks to continue that trend and I for one cannot wait.
