Recap of Appointment with Nintendo
They say if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life. Well I like what I do but I love what I get to do because of my job. Optimally I would love to be a full-time video game journalist. More then that I would love to run a video game website full-time. But the next best thing is having a good job that allows me to support my passion, Darkstation.
Over the past couple of years the site has transformed. We have a thriving reviews section, a podcast that's over a hundred episodes strong, and a staff that any website would be jealous of. With the improvements to Darkstation have come some incredible opportunities, one of which I just had this past week.
On Tuesday October 1st I went after work to downtown Los Angeles to Nintendo's PR Firm, Golin Harris to check out their games for the upcoming holiday. The meeting consisted of a little under two hours of sitting in a conference room playing video games. In the moment I had to pinch myself. This all started as a High School sophomore (12 years ago) loving video games and wanting to write about them and now here I am getting invited to press events and running an extremely successful video game website.
For the full recap of what I saw while there go to Darkstation. In all the experience was a great one. Its a joy to see the passion that I have about writing about games is also in those who make the games. And really isn't that what its all about?
