When I think about all of the books I have read in the past few years, I find it hard to find another book that I was more in love with from start to finish then Stephen King's 11-22-63. I am a sucker for a good time travel book, but what's funny is time travel is more a means of transportation and what really matters in this book is the destination.
I enjoyed Stephen King's last book Under the Dome which was the first book I ever read by King. However 11-22-63 for me is in a whole other ball park. King has the ability to make you forget the un-plausibility of a time travel portal in the back of a diner and makes you think about the little strings in life that if tugged can make waves bigger then we could ever imagine. Jake Epping the stories main character is an imperfect, unemotional, but fully believable character who fights his own skepticisms throughout the entire journey.
I don't say this much but I would love to go back and read 11-22-63 again. The book has action, romance, suspense, history, and life lessons. There is a lot that can be said for a character who isn't superman and realizes his mistakes. If you have any interest in time travel or heck just a great story I can't recommend 11-22-63 more. It is one of the best books I have ever read and one that left me speechless more times then I can count.
