Very rarley in sports do the top two seeds make it to the championship match, and in the case of the French Open the last two years the two top players in the tennis world have made it to the French Open final. Last year it was decided in a pretty good match that ended in the favor of Nadal. As some of you have read on an earlier post, Nadal is not my favorite, and I really hope Fed. can take him out especially because then that sets up for the chance of the ever glorified “Grand Slam” which Federer would be half way to completing having already won the Australian Open this year. Hopefully this Sunday we see the match of the ages, or at least one with Federer hosting the trophy.

Nadal will always dominate on clay. It’s hard to call the Federer the best player of all time when he can never win a finals on clay. BUt you know, I”m not sure Samprass ever won on clay either?

I have to disagree David, Samprass is considered the best however he never did anything in the French, I think he made it to the third round? So I could argue the other way!

I believe Federer will go down as the best of all time. He’ll have 20 Grand Slam titles in the next 3 years. I’m just saying, I don’t recall Samprass ever getting dominated by 1 player.
